What is MMA's Web Site Development Process?

MMA manages the entire process of developing the web site. We keep our clients involved and informed at each step of the process. The goal of our process is to ensure that we are meeting our client's expectations and needs. We have a detailed checklist and project guideline to ensure all items are completed.

Here is a brief outline of the phases of the process:

  1. Initial Meeting / telephone conference

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and finalize the scope and expectations of the project.  This is an opportunity for all involved in the project to provide input.  Additionally, the necessary materials for the web site will be identified and assigned for delivering to MMA.  For example, physician bios, photos, images, hospital information, insurance plans, locations, and more.

  1. Initial design prototyping

The purpose of this step is to present several web site designs to the client for comment/feedback.  These are only images, but should give an idea as to how the presentation (colors, graphics & layout) of the web site will appear.  This is a very important part of the process because everything going forward will be created with the design in mind.

  1. Final design prototype

Once a design has been chosen and approved, a working version of it will be created in HTML for another review.  This process ensures that the “look” matches the “feel”.   Modifications are made before content is added.

  1. Content Integrated into Web site

At this phase, we have a working framework of the web site and need to integrate the content.  This may be as simple as copying and pasting in text or adding the content to a database for inclusion.   For Level-III web site solutions, the database is designed during this time to reflect the content.

  1. Final approval of web site and content

At this step in the process, a final review of the content and web site is made with only minor changes anticipated.

  1. Web site hosting selection

MMA can select or use a client recommended web hosting company

  1. Search Engines

The web site is submitted to search engines for indexing and inclusion into search results.

  1. Change Requests

Change requests by the client are anticipated throughout the project and are handled on a case by case basis.  MMA realizes that our clients are not experts on the art of web site design nor the technical limitations, so we work with our clients to educate them on the impact of change requests.

Most change requests can be made with minimum impact on the project timeline or budget. For those items identified by MMA to impose substantial impact on the timeline or budget, the client and MMA will discuss the options regarding the change request (postpone deadline, postpone implementation of CR until after the project completion or increase budget or both).
