Most medical websites for physician medical practices should contain the same general basic information,
as well as information
specific to the practice. Below is a list of common pages and topics to consider. MMA also has a
detailed questionnaire to guide you through the process of gathering the appropriate
information for your practice's website.
All
Level I websites should contain the following information:
- Home page
This is the first page a visitor/Internet surfer views upon entering your site.
This page will contain the basic practice message or mission statement and specialty.
- Medical Services
This page or pages will give a description of the practice's medical services. This is a key first step towards patient education.
- Physicians/Care Providers
This page will contain photos and biographies/curriculum vitae of the principal care providers/physicians.
- Locations
This page will contain photos, map, directions, and address of each practice location.
This information will reduce staff telephone time and will greatly improve patient's ability to locate the practice.
- Insurance Plans
This page will contain a list of insurance plans that the practice participates, along with links to each individual insurance plan's web site.

web sites that are healthcare-related.
- HIPAA Privacy
By law, any medical entity that has a web site must post their HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices on the web site.
